The other day, The 19th Overseas Talents -- Hangzhou Projects Matchmaking Conference, jointly organized by the Talent Office of The CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee and other units, was held in Jiangnan Science and Technology Town (Zhejiang Science and Technology Entrepreneur Gathering Area) of our district. At the matchmaking conference, a ceremony was held to appoint “overseas talent project entrepreneurship mentors”, and a total of 40 high-level talents with  overseas education background or professional institution staff were appointed as entrepreneurship mentors. In addition, strategic agreements on the landing of three projects were signed by and between the project representatives and the park representatives.  

At the event, over 100 overseas and returnee talent science and technology projects were collected, along with 100 written exchange projects and 30 on-site matching ones. 11 were presented through roadshows, focusing on the five industrial ecosystems in terms of intelligent internet of things, bio-medicine, high-end equipment, new materials and green energy of Hangzhou. Over 150 members from investment institutions and park agencies from various places were invited for the event to conduct matching and exchanges by centering on talents and projects and also clear landing intentions were expressed for many projects.   

It’s known that “The Overseas Talents -- Hangzhou Projects Matchmaking Conference” was established in 2006, which fully leverages the key and core role of talents, adheres to  sustainable development driven by scientific and technological innovation, and actively builds a high-level platform of exchanges and cooperation for talents, technology, capital and projects both at home and abroad, and has become a significant platform and pathway for Hangzhou and overseas high-level talents to conduct project matchmaking, exchanges and cooperation. For 19 years, the conference has invited nearly 1,100 overseas high-level science and technology talents to Hangzhou to exchange and negotiate over 1,200 science and technology projects, reaching cooperation intentions for more than 80 projects, successfully signing contracts for over 40 projects, and the total contract amount has exceeded 155 million yuan.
